Bringing the Community Together at Broadfield Park
Last weekend, our team and residents came together for a summer BBQ at Broadfield Park, a chance to share good food, good company, and a strong sense of community spirit.
The event brought together residents from across our local homes, with our Housing and Community teams working side by side to make it all happen. It was a relaxed afternoon filled with laughter, conversation, and the delicious aroma of freshly grilled food.
James, our Group Housing Director, took charge of the BBQ, bringing a touch of authentic Southern American flair to the menu with perfectly seasoned chicken and classic hotdogs. Loren supported as sous chef, while Jack spent the afternoon chatting with residents and hearing their stories. Steve made sure everything ran smoothly, from putting up the tent to keeping the space welcoming. Lora, our Group Managing Director, sourced the food, while Monique and Penny did a fantastic job organising the day behind the scenes.
Reflecting on the event, Lora shared:
“It was an opportunity for many of our tenants to socialise and feel part of a real community. We take for granted chatting to our neighbours, co-workers or family members and forget about those single individuals who go days on end without human interaction.”
Moments like these remind us that community isn’t just about buildings; it’s about connection. Our residents left with full stomachs and warm smiles, and we left feeling proud of the relationships that continue to grow within our communities.
At Caridon, we believe homes are the foundations on which lives are built. Through events like this, we aim to strengthen the bonds between neighbours, reduce isolation, and nurture a sense of belonging for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, helped out, and made the day such a success. Together, we’re building communities where everyone feels included and supported.
