Caridon Group CEO Supports Launch of New National Safeguarding Partnership at the House of Lords
Last week, our CEO Mario Carrozzo attended the House of Lords for the launch of a new safeguarding partnership between The Safeguarding Alliance and BDO UK. The event was an important moment in the ongoing campaign for Della’s Law, a proposed reform that aims to close the legal loophole which has allowed registered sex offenders to change their names and avoid detection. The gathering brought together campaigners, professionals and supporters who all share a commitment to protecting vulnerable people.
One of the most powerful parts of the afternoon came from Survivor Ambassador Della Wright. Her personal story provided a clear reminder of the real world consequences of the current system and the need for urgent change. For more than seven years, The Safeguarding Alliance, led by CEO Emily Konstantas, has been calling for reform and shining a light on this issue. Their persistence and dedication have been vital in keeping the campaign moving forward.
Reflecting on the event, Mario shared how deeply moved he was by Della’s testimony. He spoke about the responsibility organisations have to embed safeguarding across every sector, including housing. He reinforced Caridon Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives like Della’s Law and ensuring that the services we deliver always put the safety and protection of vulnerable people first.
We are proud to stand with survivors, campaigners and safeguarding experts who are working tirelessly to bring about stronger safeguards. As a housing provider, we continue to strengthen our own safeguarding practices to ensure our homes and communities remain safe places where people can thrive.
