Caridon Foundation wins Bronze at the International CSR Excellence Awards 2026
Caridon Foundation has been awarded Bronze in the CSR Small-Medium Business category at the International CSR Excellence Awards 2026. The trophies were presented at St Paul's Cathedral, London on Monday 1 June, at a ceremony bringing together winners from the UK, UAE, Türkiye, USA and Australia. It is the second time the group has won at the awards, which are owned and operated by The CSR Society.
Founder and Chief Executive Mario Carrozzo and Procurement Associate Analisa Carrozzo collected the trophy on behalf of the group. The award was presented by Richard Collins FICRS of CSR Accreditation.
Caridon has worked from one principle since 2009, that you can house people in the most vulnerable circumstances and run a strong, sustainable business at the same time. The group has provided homes for people facing homelessness, for women and families fleeing domestic abuse, and for members of the Windrush generation. Across more than 2,000 properties and ten years of office-to-residential conversions, that work has been delivered commercially rather than through grant funding.
Mario Carrozzo said: "This award is very close to my heart because it is an acknowledgement of what we do for our staff, our residents and the wider community. Since 2009 we have put our time and energy into proving that you can house people in the most vulnerable situations, whether that is people facing homelessness, women who have suffered domestic abuse or members of the Windrush generation. You can do good and do well in society, and we have proven it can be done. Lora deserves to pick up this award because she did all the hard work, and the work the Foundation has done is incredible."
Caridon Foundation is the charity arm of Caridon Group, delivering support work across the communities where the group operates.
The group has been invited back to the Houses of Parliament in November to receive a CSR World Leader trophy, the follow-on recognition given to International CSR Excellence Award winners who publish their work in the Global Guide to CSR Best Practice.
Your Local Guardian covered the win and spoke to Mario about how Caridon began. He lost heavily in the 2009 financial crash and around the same time found a friend of his sleeping rough in Croydon, housed him in one of his own properties, and realised how many people were in that position. The piece also covers the Foundation's work on CV writing, life skills guidance and mental health support, and the group's partnerships with Legacy Youth Zone, Purley Food Hub and community charities across the borough. Mario described himself as "humbled" by the recognition, standing among global firms at St Paul's.
